You can make a very simple but effective short video using photographs and some free software. This can then be distributed around the video websites and used as a direct video advertising tool or for gaining backlinks to your main site.
The video below was made with a few photographs taken by me (free) and a few images created with Picasa (free). Then all put together with Windows Movie Maker software (free). Free or very low cost music can be found all over the internet. However, you do need to be carefull about the copyright so make sure you know exactly what you are using.
For all of these items just put the name into google and you will find what you need quite easily.
A few tips when doing this:
Photos and images should be 1280 x 720 pixels or larger.
Try and take the photographs in the order you would like to seem them in the video. If you can imagine the video in your head before you start, you should be able to do this quite easily. This just means less time wasted re-arranging them or renaming them.
The duration for each photograph in the sequence should be about 4-5 seconds – thats enough time for the viewer to realise what they are looking at, but not so long that they get bored.
The last image should remain on screen for longer as it will contain your site info etc etc.
With the Windows Movie Maker software it is quite easy to trim the music to fit the sequence of photographs, or you can add ‘transitions’ between the images to add a bit of extra time, so that the photograph and image sequence fits the music.
You’re not trying to be the next ‘Oscar’ winner so you do not have to be absolutely precise. After a couple of goes you will find it is quite easy and it will only take you a few minutes to get a reasonable short video put together.
Have a look at the video below and you should be able to get an idea of what I am talking about. This video was made mainly for building backlinks from the video sites but it also works as direct video advertising should anybody stumble across it.
Hope that helps.
